Here's a quick guide to measuring your Windows.
Notes:
- There is no right way to do this - the placement of your Window Treatment (Cornice or Curtain Rod) is entirely up to you. It's best to measure your curtain first, then work backwards, applying that measurement to figure out the placement for your window harwdare.
- Our Window Treatment's return "Lengths" are inside dimensions - add 2" to 5" for outside projection, depending on style.
For our Cornices - we recommend it fit outside your window molding or trim and add at least 1 inch
for added stability and to make sure there is enough room for the
cornice to attach on either side of the wall - it is normal for the
cornice to extend farther than the window by a few inches (but this
again is personal preference).
When measuring for height, keep in mind how long your window
treatments are - you don't want to have them hanging too low or too
high above the window sill/ floor depending on your treatment/location.
